Silicone Cap and Pin

MacLean Silicone Cap and Pin Replacements offer many advantages:

  • Direct height replacement for porcelain cap and pin TR numbers in ANSI C-29.8
  • Lighter weight one piece designs
  •  Assembly cost savings
  • Superior contamination performance from silicone
  •  Damage resistant

Description

Most cap and pin insulators were installed many years ago. As they age and break, they need replacing. Since they are different heights from normal station posts, MPS has developed a variety of these replacement silicone posts that are the exact same height as the porcelain. These are lighter weight and are one piece with the same height and have comparable electrical to the ANSI 29-8 table. This means you have a one-to-one replacement without having to adjust the bus. In addition to weighing about 1/3 the weight of porcelain, the silicone offers excellent hydrophobic properties.
